History in Action Festival, Talana, Dundee

Tourism Dundee presents the History in Action Cultural Festival on Friday, 27 September 2002 at the Talana Museum in Dundee.

In the early evening there will be an historical talk on top of Mpati Mountain (there is road access) at a cost of R5 per person.

There will also be a military sing-a-long in the Moth Shellhole and a traditional army meal. Ticket Prices: Adults R20; CHildren R5; Car Entry R10

For those with an excess of energy there is the 'History in Action' Cycle Challenge.

The Dundee Lions Club will present: Wheels Through Time with vintage and veteran cars, motor cycles and farm implements.

10:30 General Salute and flag raising ceremony
11:00 Wrestling demonstration
11:45 Zulu dancing exhibition
12:30 Re-enactment of the Battle of Talana
13:30 Choir
14:15 Ballroom dancing exhibition
15:00 Demonstration of Zulu, British and Boer Battle tactics
15:45 Indian dancing
16:30 Band
17:15 Re-enactment of the defence of Rorkes Drift
18:00 Braai and music in the museum grounds
