Description : 4 Stars graded.The lodge is perched on the side of Nyoni rock on which the Zulu Commander stood during the battle of Isandlwana on 22 January 1879. It is built with local stone with thatched roof and sweeping verandahs and intimate bedroom balconies overlooking the battlesite. Pillars that support the majestic thatch roof came from the West Street Pier in Durban and each is named for a Zulu who was significant in the battle. Decor is ethnic and modern. Furniture is from African Woods and fabrics were screenprinted. Highlight of visit is battlefield tours by Rob Gerrard F R G S. we also offer photographs safaris, horseriding, walking trails, birding and cultural experiences. Swimmingpool.
